12,500 Miles in 12 Months of Ownership

It feels like just yesterday when I took an impromptu decision to sell my

Tesla Model 3

Performance after living with it for 2.5 years and 30,000 miles, and get this beautiful Mercedes EBQ 300.

Here are some basic observations (some of them might be repetitive) post the 1-year mark.

Likes :

1. Solid Build Quality and Extremely Luxurious Cabin, which makes its presence felt especially at night due to its bright ambient lights and multiple color options (more than the BMW)

2. Zero issues with the car to date, and it works like a charm. Just charge and drive.

3. An easy car to drive (like most EV's), just sit in the car and drive. Feels light, agile, and very fast, if need be.

4. Handling of the car is quite satisfactory, as I live in Washington, where there are limited straight roads. These roads test the car's handling capabilities on a daily basis. And, I can say this car does take corners quite well.

5. Rear Seat and overall cabin space are quite nice. Boot Space is satisfactory and can gobble up a couple of International suitcases easily.

6. Technology in the car is modern- "Hey Mercedes" works a lot better than "Hey BMW". I also regularly make them fight with each other by asking stupid questions and some of the answer they give keeps me in stitches.

7. I love the SPORTS mode as the car feels like it's on steroids and does satisfy my speed thrill urges.

8. Love the sunroof, and during a nice sunny day, it feels like sitting in an aquarium and gives a sense of a lot of room inside the car.

9. Absolutely love the beige Pure Leather Interiors. It gives the car a luxurious feel, and we feel pampered.

10. The dash has many options to toggle-Classic, Sports, Navigation, etc, so depending on the mood, the entire large dual-screen dashboard can be changed.

11. Continental Pro Contact Pro All-season tires perform excellently. We get rain here most of the time. Car handles very well in wet conditions. Tires still look brand new after 12,500 miles.

12. Finally, the customer service of Mercedes-Benz is exemplary. Everything works flawlessly, and it was $0 service for my 1st one a month ago.

Dislikes :

1. As I have always been cribbing here. The range of this car is pathetic, and it ranges between 180 miles and 220 miles between Winter and Summer.

My colleague has the exact same car, but it is a 250 variant, which is less powerful, and he is happy with his range as he gets around 250 miles to a full charge.

2. Like all EV's, brakes are not the best.

3. I always use the Maximum Regen operation, which is not as good as a Tesla, as I don't get the feel of the car slowing down as quickly as that in Tesla.

4. The car accelerates and gets to 90mph very quickly, slows down post that, which is something not to my liking.

Overall, this is a no-nonsense, easy-to-drive and luxurious electric car to own without "wow'ing" you.

I like my cars to "WOW" me. I'm already thinking which fast EV to replace this with in the next year or so.

iX3, Plaid, Lucid, Rivian, Taycan...Sigh! I reckon will live in these dreams till it's time to change the car.

Last week, it hit this magic number.

Saying Hello to another EV friend- Audi Q8 E-Tron.

Post a strenuous bike ride.

From last week- Cherry Blossoms coming up near home.

Last few days, we are getting snow daily but, like how I like- Light and Flaky.
