Odometer crossed 1.4 Lacs today after exactly 13 years.

Thirteen years ago, I drove my

Honda City

off the lot with lots of excitement; today it's still turning heads and starting every morning without fail.

Excited to be writing an update after a long one-year break.

The car is still a trusted workhorse, taking us to wherever we plan to go, be it highway runs, nature trails or village broken pathways.

Most important update! Got HSRP number plates installed in March. The complete process was smooth from online booking to getting the plates installed at the installation centre.

Tamhini Ghat

Tamhini Ghat and Mulshi are places we love to travel for a few days when we feel a need to unwind from the hectic schedule of corporate worklife. Beautiful winding roads and nature is whats entices us to explore the natural beauty of this region. Roads are recently laid and are in pristine condition, traffic is sparse as we normally have our rides on weekdays to avoid the rush of weekends.

Nashik Trip

Have done multiple trips on the nashik stretch in past one year. Love the weather and tranquility it offers to be away from the hustle and bustle of a mumbai metropolis. Few pics captured on the highway, rarely do i miss a chance to capture pics of the car.

Tyre Change:-

The previous set of Michelin XM-2 had run 72000 kms in 5 years, handling all types of terrain, highways, broken patches of NH-66, and village roads. The quality of Michelin tyres really stood out. Not a single puncture in its lifespan.

Due to an import embargo on the import of Michelin tyres of a specific size. Size 195x60xR15 wasn't available, tried contacting multiple dealers, a few had stock of 185x65XR15, which wasn't the size we were looking for. Finally decided to go for continental UC-6. Tyres have suffered two punctures in the last 1 year, not sure whether Michelin were more durable than Continental or the road conditions have deteriorated too much, especially in and round mumbai, with so much construction work of metros and freeways going on. Ride quality is not as plush and michelin, but overall, these are nice alternatives to Michelin tyres.

Servicing:-

The car has been serviced at Regent Honda Thane for the last 3 years. Tried FNG a couple of times, but went ahead with getting it serviced and diagnosed at ASC to have peace of mind and identify any issues in its nascent stage before they flare up into something significant.

The right rear bearing assembly was slightly damaged, so it was changed from service centre. Front rotor pads were skimmed, and brake pads were replaced. Everything else is still in good condition. Will plan to get a major service done around the 1.5 lacs Km mark, which probably will come around the 14th anniversary of the car in November 2026.

Planning to get another detailing session done at Maxshine sometime soon.

Will post the update once the detailing session is done.
