Samir Gupta Steps Down As MD Of Continental Tyres India

Samir Gupta has stepped down as Managing Director of Continental Tyres India after a 34-year career, including over 13 years at Continental, and has announced a career pause.
Samir Gupta has stepped down from his role as Managing Director, India at Continental Tyres and has decided to take a professional pause after a 34-year career, including over 13 years with the organisation.
He has shared this development through an update on
, where he has described the move as a conscious decision to reflect, recharge, and shape the next phase of his professional journey aligned with his strengths, purpose, and new challenges.
Prior to this, he has served as Managing Director, Continental Tyres India and Regional Head of Central Asia at Continental India from January 2022 to April 2026. Earlier, he held the position of Managing Director, Continental Tyres Malaysia and Regional Head of Central Asia PLT RE at Continental Tyres Malaysia Sdn Bhd from December 2019 to December 2021. In 2019, he has briefly worked as Head of Central Region – BU PLT Replacement APAC at Continental Tyres Thailand from March 2019 to November 2019.
Before that, he has been Market Manager – Truck and Bus Tyres at Continental India from February 2016 to February 2019, and Sales Head – India at Continental India from September 2012 to January 2016.
Prior to joining Continental, he has spent over 11 years at Castrol India as National Sales Manager – Castrol Industrial – High Performance Lubricants from February 2001 to September 2012, where he has been responsible for P&L, strategy formulation, and leading national sales teams. He has begun his career with ITW Signode India Ltd as Manager – North from July 1996 to February 2001.
